Client : Notre dame Providence, Enghien les bains, France
Designers :Jean-Marie Duthilleul - AREP (Architect) - MaP3 (Steel structure) - Ag Terrones (project architect) Contractors : AUER (steel constructor), Ent VALLOIS (Wood constructor) The project is a new cult room to be built inside an existing church. The structure is a steel frame supported by 4 columns and covered with wood. The structure could not be fully designed like a membrane or a shell because it is interrupted to access. The best system to respect the complex geometry of the shell was to use plane elements. The structure was erected in 1 month, during school holidays. A multiblade wood complex was designed to cover the shell with very small radius (1 meter minimum), allowing the curve in both directions. |
